GENERAL QUESTIONS
What should I wear for my portrait session?
It is very important to wear an outfit that feels like you and that you’re comfortable in. The outfit that you wear will help choose the location and set the mood for your photos. Before you think about wearing a lot of neutrals, consider bright colors that pop on camera. If you’re doing an engagement or family session, you do not want to be too “matchy-matchy”! Accessories like big necklaces, bracelets, hats, earrings and fun shoes photograph well. Accessories make the session look and feel more styled. Props, pets and things that are special to you really make your pictures special and warm. If you’re not sure on what to wear, do some research and look at other sessions where the clothes “popped” out to you. Pinterest is a great tool to find fun ideas for outfits and locations! Should I get my hair and makeup done? Does it really make a difference?
ABSOLUTELY! Professional hair and makeup is on the top of most of my clients’ checklists because it looks amazing on camera and removes the stress of getting ready on your own. This is the time to treat yourself! Whether it’s lash extensions or blown-out hair, professional hair and makeup will give you an extra boost of confidence in front of the camera, and it always photographs like a dream. Good makeup artists know how to get it all just right for the camera — and my clients always love the final result. If you need a recommendation for hair and makeup, I work with the best in the business and have a list of go-to stylists! You’ll LOVE them! I know they’ll take good care of you!

What is your weather policy?
Outdoor photo shoots run the risk of Mother Nature not cooperating. If it is sunny or cloudy the day of your session, GREAT! Clouds actually help produce even light and sunny days are beautiful as well! We will reschedule your session if it is raining, too dark, or too windy. I will contact you the morning of your session to give an honest assessment of the weather. I use weather.com’s hourly forecast and radar the morning of the session for the most accurate report. Weather can change at the last minute so it is best to wait as long as possible before making the final call. Click here for my view on weather and how it can affect your session.
How long does it take to receive my proofs from a portrait session?
It takes between 1-2 weeks to receive your proofs. I will email you as soon as your gallery is ready.
I need my pictures sooner than the 1-2 week turnaround time. How do I get them sooner?
A rush fee can be purchased for $175. When purchased, you will receive your proofs 2 days after your session.
How long do we have to make our collection selections?
You have 2 weeks after your gallery is received to make your collection selections.
Do you backup our images? How can we ensure that our images won’t be lost?
They’re backed up MULTIPLE TIMES. The second I get home from a session or wedding, I immediately back up your images on multiple hard drives to ensure that they won’t be lost.
