Tips & Tricks Tuesday | What’s in My Camera Bag?

in For the Photographer- Tips & Tricks, Personal, Tips & Tricks on 12/10/16

If you’re into photography and are anything like me, I LOVE knowing what gear other photographers use. It’s fun, informative and helpful if you don’t know what to buy!

I have 3 different bags that I love to use:

  1. The Thinktank Airport International V3.0
This is my go-to bag when I fly alone or have to walk a long distance with all of my gear. It’s on rollers and is the perfect size for a carryon bag. It protects all of my gear with all of the padding and many dividers. This is my go-to bag for weddings. This bag has been through a lot and it is still holding up. I couldn’t be happier with this bag!
  2. Kelly Moore Messenger Bag (similar to this one)
They don’t sell my bag anymore, but it has been a fantastic bag for me. I love the option to turn it into a small backpack or messenger bag. It holds one DSLR body, two lenses, memory cards and business cards. I took this purse to Paris back in 2014 because I wanted a bag that looked more like a purse than a camera bag. I wanted to take my “nice cameras” instead of my iPhone to Paris, but didn’t want to look like a tourist. I also love the removable padded basket because I can take it out, put it in a different bag or duffle to protect my camera gear. I would highly recommend any of Kelly Moore’s bags! They’re beautiful, durable and so versatile!
  3. Lowepro Backpack (similar to this one)
This was my first camera bag and I use this more now that I have a daughter and need both of my hands. I use this bag when I travel with her or if I’m going to be in the middle of a field and can’t roll my Thinktank bag out in the mud.

The type of session, who I’m traveling with and where I’m going to be dictates which bag I’ll use that day. All three bags are fantastic and I have been extremely impressed with their durability.

Oh, hi there!

Yep…I was THAT nerdy kid who brought 9 disposable cameras to a week-long summer camp and carried cameras in her purse because I wanted to capture every incredible moment that happened. Needless to say, I have always had a huge passion for photography! Read More…
