Styled shoots are like Christmas morning for me. I love planning them, styling them and dreaming of fun themes. I have been wanting to do a retro themed styled shoot for a while now and when I ran across this Volkswagon bus on Instagram, I knew I had to use it for a styled shoot!
First of all, these girls were SO fun to work with. They were so easy going and were up for anything…until we saw a TARANTULA run out from under the bus. I’ve never seen a group of girls run so fast in my life. I think someone yelled, “Lauren! Can you get my phone for me?!” as they ran away! However, my assistant, Claire, decided to run towards the giant spider with our inspiration board and scare it away. She’s awesome!
Second of all…THIS BUS IS MAGICAL. I have soft place in my heart for Volkswagons. My first car was a yellow VW bug. My second car was a red VW bug. My email address in middle school was limegreenVWbeetle777. Needless to say, I’m obsessed with Volkswagon. Forget a mom car like a Tahoe or mini van! Give me a VW bus!
Grand Slam Glam did a fantastic job with the girls’ hair and makeup. The always knock it out of the park (pun intended)!
